3 Reasons Intimate, Small Weddings Are Awesome

With everything that’s going on in the world with COVID-19, the wedding world has been completely rocked. While there are several ways to navigate your wedding amid COVID, I want to talk about one in particular: Small and Intimate Weddings. We absolutely love them.

A small, intimate wedding can be a great ulterior to a huge celebration. We see this as an upcoming trend amidst what’s happening in the world and I don’t think that’s a bad thing! While big celebrations are still so much fun and we love them, there are a lot of positives to having a smaller, more intimate celebration as well!

1. Luxury without breaking the bank

This is my favorite positive about smaller weddings. When your guest list is under 30, you can have the coolest features and details! You have the flexibility in your budget to do a gorgeous tablescape, hand-written calligraphy, personalized invitation suites, extravagant floral arches and arrangements, and other fun touches like a champagne tower, fun guest favors, and the list goes on. Because you’re not paying to feed hundreds of people, your meal can be more fresh and more of a luxury experience. Not to mention the top-shelf cocktails that can be crafted all night long!

2. People’s feelings won’t get hurt

When you make a guest list of any kind, people tend to worry about hurting others feelings. When you keep the list to close friends and immediate family only, your extended family will understand! It takes the pressure off of inviting your mom’s cousin’s son. Most likely your family and extended friends will respect your decision to keep your wedding an intimate and small celebration. You’re likely going to have one or two family members that raises concern, but at the end of the day it’s about you and your fiance and what makes the two of you happy.

3. More time for bride and groom portraits

When your day isn’t full of huge bridal party photos, extended family formals, and mingling with hundreds of guests at cocktail hour, you’re able to spend more time with your significant other one on one. It allows for your photographer to take intimate photos, candid moments, and get more creative with bride and groom shots, instead of having to rush onto the next thing on a packed wedding day!

While a small intimate wedding isn’t for everyone, it’s definitely something to think about and consider as you plan your big day!
